1 Bus
and a whole hell of a lot of fun!

Well folks... we are come home tomorrow!
Both Shannon and I are very sad to be coming to the end of our Great Euopean Adventure! But looking forward to seeing all of your lovely faces!
We have had so much fun this trip!

Our days in London have been great!
Thursday we woke up and headed over to the Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guard ceremony and we had like THE BEST SPOT that you could hope to have, and about half way through it started to rain and ended up being cancelled. We were not impressed! And of course it was sunny again about 10 minutes later! So we decided to go find the nearest movie theatre and enjoy an afternoon filled with Harry Potter. We both thought the Movie was AMAZING!

Then today we went on a New Europe free walking tour that was about 2 hours long. We got to see alot of stuff in that 2 hours thats for sure. We even stopped by the Changing of the Guard ceremony again to find out that it also had been cancelled like the day before (our bitter souls were very happy about this haha). It had also rained off and on through out our walking tour, it wouldn't be London if it didn't! Then after the walking tour we headed off to the London Eye and took a ride on it. You get a great view of the city thats for sure and your on it for probably about 30 minutes too, we both think its well worth it!

Well thats all folks!

Cheerio!

Sex, Drugs and Wooden Clogs

That's Amsterdam in a nutshell. We got in on Sunday afternoon after a really long train ride from Hannover. Amstedam is a great city, definitely the prettiest city we have been to on our trip. Monday morning we got up and had the first of three AWESOME breakfasts from the hostel. This hostel wins points solely on the great breakfast....pancakes, french toast and eggs all for free. Definitely broke up the monotony of 6 weeks of toast and strawberry jam and the occasional bowl of cornflakes, served with warm milk of course(that's how the Germans roll). After breakfast we wandered down to the Anne Frank House and although we shouldn't have been surprised, the line was already 30 minutes long at 9:30 in the morning. It was definitely worth the wait though and gave us a totally different perspective on the effects of Jewish lives during the war. Next up was a canal bus that took us around the city and down to the Van Gough Museum...how classy are we. It was pretty cool to see and we each bought prints, which are awesome.

Tuesday was a new day and we finished off the rest of our canal boat ticket on a different route before getting off and checking out the infamous Red Light District. After staying in two red light districts in Germany nothing was too shocking, except for the prostitutes in windows half naked - that was new. After that we wandered over to Dam Sqaure and had THE WORLDS BEST STREETDOGS!!! DELICIOUS!!

Today we boarded a plane and landed in London, where it took us 1 1/2 hours to get through UK Customs...don't get us started on that. We were at Gatwick airport longer than the duration of our flight, which didn't impess either of us...AT ALL!! We are now just trying to figure out what the cheapest things to do in London are, before we come home Saturday...but you'll hear from us before then.

More Later.

Goodbye Germany

We've been slacking again and so we need to rewind our lives a few days back to Hamburg, where all you know about so far is that we had assholes for roommates one night. The other two nights we had one quiet guy and the next night we had three guys we spoke a language we couldn't figure out and after watching them go in and out of the bathroom sometimes two at a time the only english thing we heard them say was 'put your hands down my pants'. We were REALLY glad there was a wall between us and them, cause neither of us wanted to know what was going on. haha Also, we stayed on the Reeperbahn in the St. Pauli district. Google that Mom. LOL

While in Hamburg though we went on a hot air balloon ride which took us 250 metres above the city and got great views of the Alster Lakes and the Harbour. It's one of the biggest harbours in Europe and there were tonnes of huge ships going in and out. Fun fact, Hannover is a very watery city and has over 2300 bridges...more than any other european city. We also went on a canal and Alster Lake boat tour which was a another nice way to see the city and relaxing although also VERY hot!!

We left dear Hamburg on Thursday to come to Hannover where we have been hanging out the last couple days and wandering around the city. We went to a flea market today, because lets be honest you never know what you are going to find at a flea market but unfortunatley all the good stuff would not fit in our backpacks. But at this point not much of anything would fit in our backpacks....they are QUITE full.

Today was our last full day in Germany as we are taking a train to Amsterdam tomorrow morning.

What do you do with 3 loud assholes?

Caution- RANT AHEAD!

overcast 20 °C

Where to start..

Yesterday we checked into our really nice hostel that we loved the second we walked into it, and a really nice room to boot.
We are in a room with sort of 2 different rooms, ours in the one with 2 single beds on the way to the washroom and in the other room we have 3 lads from Dublin, Ireland. We thought.. awesome we love the Irish!
It started out with them listening to music and drinking beer for awhile last night which we were totally fine with. Then they had 3 girls over of whom they met 2 on the flight over yesterday because its their first night on their vacation. The girls were really nice and asked us if we were fine with the music and stuff. Which we were.. until is started to get overly loud and the guys started yelling and going on. They ended up getting stupidly loud and leaving around midnight, and we were relieved and tried to get some sleep while they were gone and before they came back since we knew they would be just, if not more, loud as when they left. Well 230 rolled around and they came back, LOUD AS HELL and acting like a bunch of immature 13 year old boys, running up and down the hall in their boxers and slamming the door on one another. At one point me (Sarah) ended up yelling 'FUCK' which shut them up for about a good 5 minutes, and then about 20 minutes later their loud-drunk asses passed out.
When we woke up this morning they were still asleep and we did not try to be quite what so ever since neither did they last night. On our way out Shannon so nicely SLAMMED the door!! I wish I could have seen their faces when she did. Loud assholes. We have not been up to our room since so we have no idea if they are still there or not. We are hoping not!!

On a better note.. today we wondered around the old town part of Hamburg and found the water! Tomorrow we are hoping to go on a hot air balloon ride and a river cruise!

Anyways.. more tomorrow!

Berlin Baby

We spent the last four days in Berlin taking in the sights...both historical and fashion wise.

Our first day there we did a 3 1/2 hour walking tour of the city...about an hour of that it poured rain. The tour was really good, taking us to pretty much every major sight in the city that we cared to see. We started out at Parisaplatz and were shown the Hotel Adlon(MJ baby dangling incident anyone?) and of course the Brandenburg Gate. Next up was a quick look at the Reichstag before heading down the street to the Holocaust War Memorial, which as it happens is right across the street from where Hitler's bunker was(it's now a parking lot for some apartment buildings). The Berlin Wall was next and of course Checkpoint Charlie. We were also in the square across from Humboldt University where the Nazi Book Burning took place.

Saturday morning we went to the Reichstag and waited almost an hour to go up to the roof and to the top of the glass dome where we got some great views of Berlin. I(Shannon) also decided at this point that I NEEDED an Ampelmann sweater so from then on it was my mission to get one. Google Ampelmann..I love the little guy. We wandered around for a while and found a market near the river and then of course did the touristy river boat cruise, which was actually quite cool. Definitely a different way to see the city.

Yesterday we took a double decker bus around the city and not a whole bunch else as a lot of things close down on Sundays in Europe.

Today we got on the train headed to Hamburg where we are right now and for the next 3 nights.
