Goodbye Germany
18.07.2009
We've been slacking again and so we need to rewind our lives a few days back to Hamburg, where all you know about so far is that we had assholes for roommates one night. The other two nights we had one quiet guy and the next night we had three guys we spoke a language we couldn't figure out and after watching them go in and out of the bathroom sometimes two at a time the only english thing we heard them say was 'put your hands down my pants'. We were REALLY glad there was a wall between us and them, cause neither of us wanted to know what was going on. haha Also, we stayed on the Reeperbahn in the St. Pauli district. Google that Mom. LOL
While in Hamburg though we went on a hot air balloon ride which took us 250 metres above the city and got great views of the Alster Lakes and the Harbour. It's one of the biggest harbours in Europe and there were tonnes of huge ships going in and out. Fun fact, Hannover is a very watery city and has over 2300 bridges...more than any other european city. We also went on a canal and Alster Lake boat tour which was a another nice way to see the city and relaxing although also VERY hot!!
We left dear Hamburg on Thursday to come to Hannover where we have been hanging out the last couple days and wandering around the city. We went to a flea market today, because lets be honest you never know what you are going to find at a flea market but unfortunatley all the good stuff would not fit in our backpacks. But at this point not much of anything would fit in our backpacks....they are QUITE full.
Today was our last full day in Germany as we are taking a train to Amsterdam tomorrow morning.
